I am unable to find the ‘Shorts preview start date’ field in FUGA Next. Can I use Shorts Music Previews?
This feature is enabled for clients by default. If you are not seeing this field in FUGA Next, reach out to FUGA Support to request the feature be enabled.
Do I need to redeliver a track on the day of release to ensure it becomes available in full-length?
No. YouTube receives the full-length audio in the initial delivery so there is no need to redeliver the full track on the day of release.
Do I need to enter the asset-based release date as well when setting up the Shorts preview? Or would the product-level consumer release date suffice for the full-length to go live on release date?
It is not necessary to set the asset release date in order to enable a Shorts preview. The product’s (DSP-specific) consumer release date is sufficient.
I am a YouTube partner. Can I use a different Shorts previews policy name?
No, this is currently not possible but this feature may be explored in the future.
Can I see analytics for Shorts usage in my FUGA Analytics Dashboard?
YouTube reports usage of a track in a Short via their YouTube Music Analytics API. This is not currently displayed within FUGA Analytics, but will be an option in the near future.
I can’t see the Shorts preview in the Shorts Music Library.
If you cannot find your YouTube Shorts preview, please make sure to provide Composer and Lyricist credits in FUGA Next. This will ensure the preview clip is available for content creators on YouTube to use your music in their YouTube shorts.
If you deliver to YouTube over a direct feed and you cannot find ‘Add YouTube Shorts preview policy’ as an option in the CMS, please reach out to your direct contact at YouTube to request access to Shorts Previews.
Will a Short preview clip be visible on my artist channel?
Preview art tracks will not appear on YouTube Music, Official Artist Channels or Artist profiles. Preview art tracks can be discovered by users within the YouTube search results.
