The Custom Exchange Rates Importer is a powerful feature within RASA, our Royalty Accounting Software Application, that enables users to import foreign exchange rate data into the system. This knowledge-based article aims to highlight the supported header names, currency code format, and exchange rate format. 

Please note that Google's exchange rate importer has been deprecated, but users can still import exchange rates from custom sources or utilize Apple's exchange rates.

  1. Supported Header Names: When preparing the exchange rate data for import, it is essential to ensure that the header names in the file match the expected format in RASA. The supported header names are as follows:
    1. 'To': This header represents the destination currency for the exchange rate.
    2. 'From': This header indicates the base currency from which the exchange rate is calculated.
    3. 'Rate': This header specifies the exchange rate between the 'To' and 'From' currencies.
  2. Currency Code Format: The currency code used in the 'To' and 'From' columns is a standard 3-letter code. It follows the ISO 4217 Alpha3 format, which provides a unique identifier for each currency. For example, 'USD' represents the United States Dollar, 'EUR' stands for the Euro, and 'GBP' represents the British Pound Sterling.
  3. Exchange Rate Format: The exchange rate format expected by RASA is a decimal number. It represents the value at which one unit of the 'From' currency can be exchanged for the 'To' currency. The decimal separator can be a period (.) or a comma (,). For example, an exchange rate of 1.25 indicates that one unit of the 'From' currency is equivalent to 1.25 units of the 'To' currency.
  4. Apple Exchange Rates: RASA also offers the option to import exchange rates directly from Apple. Apple provides widely recognized and reliable exchange rates in the industry. By importing exchange rates from Apple, users can ensure accurate and up-to-date currency conversions within the system.
  5. Deprecated Google Exchange Rate Importer: The Google exchange rate importer has been deprecated and is no longer available in RASA. However, users have the flexibility to import exchange rates from custom sources. This allows customization and ensures access to accurate and reliable exchange rate data.
