What is 2FA
Two-factor authentication (2FA) is an added security measure FUGA has introduced to ensure the integrity and protection of user accounts on its platform.
2FA requires the use of an authenticator app, such as Google Authenticator or Authy, in addition to providing standard log-in credentials. The authenticator app will generate a unique code for users to input when logging in - enhancing account security.
FUGA will also be able to provide backup codes in case of any issues regarding the device itself, i.e. a lost phone. These codes can help the user gain access to their account in the event of any issues regarding the 2FA setup, and adds another layer of security to a user account.
How to enable 2FA for your user account in FUGA Next
- After logging in to your FUGA Next account, navigate to Account settings > Two-Factor Authentication to start setting up 2FA for your account.
- Scroll down to “Two-Factor Authentication”
- Toggle the switch on the bottom right where it says “Not enabled” to enable the feature.
A window will pop up that prompts you to configure your Authenticator app, such as Google Authenticator or Authy, via a QR code. Follow the instructions in the pop-up window and click continue once you have filled in the One-Time Password (OTP). - The pop-up screen will now enable you to download back-up codes. These codes can help you access your account should you lose access to the device used for 2FA. Download the codes and store them somewhere secure. Click confirm, and continue.
- To finish setting up 2FA on your account, re-enter your account password in the pop-up menu, and click finish. You will then be able to see on the account settings page that the toggle for Two-factor authentication is set to “Enabled”. You will receive an email confirming the successful setup of 2FA for your user account.
