FUGA now supports the User Permissions feature which enables you to define what different users in your organization can see and do within FUGA Next. This ensures the protection of sensitive information and allows you to tailor FUGA Next access according to your employees’ needs. For example, you may wish to determine who has access to your accounting data, which you can now do through FUGA’s new User Permissions feature.
We support the following permission types:
- Organization Management
- Catalog
- Analytics
- Accounting
Please see more detail on each permission type below.
Organization Management
This permission allows users to have full control over all aspects in relation to user management within FUGA Next. This includes access to the “My Organization” page.
Having Organization Management enabled means the user can:
- Manage, add, and edit other users - this includes configuring permissions for other users
- Access and edit company and contact information on the ‘My Organization’ page
- Manage sub-organizations, including sub-account data and users if applicable
Users with Organization Management enabled automatically have all other permissions by default, such as catalog, analytics, and accounting.
We recommend assigning this permission to any of your organization’s managers.
Catalog
With the Catalog permission enabled, users can access and take any action within the Catalog dashboard in FUGA Next.
The Catalog permission allows users to:
- View and edit the catalog
- Action any takedowns or deliveries
- Use the following features within FUGA Next: Bulk Overview, Metadata Ingestion (MISS), Territory Groups, DSP Groups, Webhooks Settings, Sub-organization catalog management and Connections.
Please note that certain features, such as the Found.ee integration and the Marketing Portal button, are only accessible via the Catalog dashboard and the Connections tab.
Please ensure that any user accounts that may need to access these features have the Catalog permission assigned.
FUGA does not support a Read-Only Catalog permission at this time.
Analytics
The Analytics permission grants users access to the Analytics tab in FUGA Next. With this permission, users can access the analytics and view all trends data, create custom reports and export data.
Accounting
The Accounting permission controls a user's access to the Accounting data and UI experience. A user with this permission enabled will be able to view revenue data, view available statements and download this data.
Setting up and configuring User Permissions
Your User’s Permissions are displayed in the User Table on the My Organisation page in the Permissions column.
In the permissions column, the permissions assigned to your organization’s users are represented using icons. These icons appear from left to right and correspond to the following permissions: Organisation Management, Catalog, Analytics and Accounting.
A green icon means the user has been granted the permission, a gray icon indicates the user does not have that permission enabled.
To edit a user's permission, follow the below steps:
- Select the pencil icon to go to the User Details Page
- View the User Details, and scroll down to the Permissions section
- Select the permissions you want to apply or revoke
- Click save
Please note, that every user must have at least one permission enabled.
If a user does not have the Catalog permission enabled, their landing page will default to either Analytics or Accounting.
Inviting a new User with applied Permissions
When inviting a new user to your organization, you can now preselect a set of permissions:
- Start by inviting a new user using the button shown below:
- This will open the invite menu where you can select permissions and edit the invitation text.
- After selecting the desired permissions and editing the invitation text, Click ‘SEND’
- The invitation is sent. Once the user accepts and sets up their account, the selected permissions will be applied immediately
FAQ
I cannot see the User Table in My Organisation, what should I do?
Please contact a member of Support to ensure this feature is enabled for you to use.
Can I apply permissions to an API user?
No, we do not recommend setting permissions for a user account used to access the API. An API user profile should have all permissions enabled.
Can I apply permissions to a user of a sub-organization?
No, FUGA does not support the ability to set User Permissions for members of user accounts under sub-organizations.
Why can I not remove all permissions for a user?
A user must have at least one permission. If you are attempting to remove all permissions to revoke access to that user, please contact Support to suspend the user in question.
