FUGA now supports the ingestion of music videos with the Metadata Ingestion Self-Service tool (MISS). This means you can create products with video tracks by filling in the same spreadsheet used to create products with audio tracks.
There will be no change to the existing spreadsheet, it will automatically detect video files to create a video track in FUGA. To ensure you are using the current version of the spreadsheet, you can download the template from the MISS page.
To support this change, we have made some important changes to how we read filenames:
Filename Format: We strongly advise that all audio and video tracks are named in the format: upc_volume_track to ensure product cover art and video screen capture images are ingested correctly.
E.g 8717306932202_1_01.mov for a video corresponding to track one of a single-disc product.
Product Cover Art: The cover art file for all products, whether audio or video, must be named the same as the product UPC - this has been recommended practice for some time but is now mandatory.
E.g. 8717306932202.jpg
Video Screen Capture [optional]: A video screen capture image can be ingested alongside the video track. This is not required for the video to ingest and can be added later within the FUGA platform. The image must have the same filename as the corresponding video file to ingest correctly.
E.g. if the video is named 8717306932202_1_01.mov, the screen capture image filename should be 8717306932202_1_01.jpg.
Important Note: when uploading video products containing a cover art image and a screen capture image, the above guidelines should be followed to ensure the cover art isn’t ingested as the screen capture image.
