Music rights typically cover multiple elements, including sound recordings, compositions, and artwork. Distributors and labels must ensure full compliance for each element before delivering content to Digital Service Providers (DSPs).

  • Takedown of content by DSPs

FUGA’s Role in Supporting Copyright Compliance

If a third party contacts FUGA regarding a rights query related to delivered content, the following steps are taken to ensure compliance:

  1. FUGA does not process DMCA claims directly. We recommend contacting the DSP where the content is hosted.

  2. Once we have received the claim from the platform, we then follow DMCA procedure.  However, in certain cases, content may be temporarily removed from DSPs while the rights verification process is underway.

  3. The client responsible for the content will be contacted to provide documentation confirming rights ownership.

  4. Final actions are determined based on the outcome of the review. If the content is agreed to be removed from one platform for copyright infringement, it will be removed across all DSPs where FUGA have distributed it to.
