Immersive audio is an umbrella term referring to three-dimensional sound technologies. It creates virtual height and side channels, tricking your ears into thinking that sound is coming from all angles. It even works on regular stereo headphones.
There are a number of different formats which fall under the immersive audio umbrella, the most commonly used is Dolby Atmos.
FUGA offers automated immersive audio delivery to Apple Music, TIDAL, Amazon, and Deezer. All Apple Music subscribers and TIDAL HiFi Plus and Amazon Music Unlimited members can experience music with multi-dimensional Dolby Atmos sound.
Apple Music's immersive audio experience, referred to as Spatial Audio, uses sensors to track the listener’s head movements and adjusts the directionality of the audio. This experience requires an Apple device paired with AirPods Pro or AirPods Max.
On Apple, albums that are available in Dolby Atmos will include a badge on the album detail page. On TIDAL, this indicator appears when using compatible hardware. On Amazon Music, Dolby Atmos albums will be clearly labeled through their user interface using a Dolby Atmos logo.
Releasing music in the Dolby Atmos audio format allows you access to a number of additional on-platform marketing opportunities including dedicated sliders, banners and playlists.
For example, Amazon Music features a search menu that allows listeners to filter for Dolby Atmos content. In addition, playlists for both, a standalone “Best of Dolby Atmos,” and some blended genre-focused playlists that include Dolby Atmos content will be available. Amazon Music also has a Dolby Atmos page that will feature and promote Dolby Atmos tracks and albums (e.g., Top Tracks, New Releases).
