This article explains how to track Dolby Atmos streaming data using FUGA Analytics, specifically through Apple Music Insights. It also outlines current limitations for other DSPs and helps you interpret format-level stream data.
Overview
FUGA Analytics provides format-level streaming data for Apple Music, allowing users to view how many times Dolby Atmos versions of their recordings have been played. This functionality is currently not available for Amazon Music, TIDAL, or other DSPs.
This guide shows you how to locate and interpret immersive audio performance within the Apple Music Insights view.
Accessing Dolby Atmos Stream Data
To view a breakdown of Dolby Atmos streams:
- Go to your Analytics Dashboard in the FUGA Interface
- In the Views dropdown menu, select Apple Music Insights
- Scroll to the Audio Formats section of the page
You will see a color-coded breakdown of playback by format:
- Compressed: AAC or other low-bitrate formats
- Lossless: CD-quality streams
Immersive: Includes Dolby Atmos audio streams
The chart will show relative volume per format, allowing you to compare how immersive audio is performing alongside other types.
Limitations and Platform Scope
- Dolby Atmos playback reporting is only supported for Apple Music in FUGA Analytics
- Amazon Music and TIDAL do not currently differentiate audio formats at playback level in available analytics
FUGA continues to monitor platform support and will update clients if new analytics capabilities become available
