How to Add and Deliver Lyrics Using the FUGA Interface

Introduction

This article explains how to add lyrics to new or existing products using the FUGA Interface, and how lyrics are delivered to Digital Service Providers (DSPs).

 

Lyrics can be added during product creation or when editing an existing release. Once included in an asset's metadata, FUGA will deliver the lyrics to supported DSPs. This article outlines each process step and includes guidance on how lyrics are handled across platforms.

Creating a New Product with Lyrics

Follow these steps to include lyrics when building a new product in the FUGA Interface:

  1. Log into your FUGA account.
  2. Navigate to Create Product and enter the required metadata.
  3. Add your desired asset(s) to the product.
  4. Scroll and click on the Lyrics field in the left-hand menu within the asset.
  5. Click on the green plus.
  6. Enter or paste the lyrics text into the provided field.
  7. Click Save.

The lyrics will now be associated with the asset and included in your product metadata.

Adding Lyrics to an Existing Product

You can also add lyrics to a previously created product:

  1. Log in to your FUGA account.
  2. Locate the product in your catalogue.
  3. Click Unlock and Edit in the top-right corner of the product view.
  4. Select the relevant asset.
  5. Scroll and click on the Lyrics field in the left-hand menu within the asset.
  6. Click on the green plus.
  7. Enter or paste the lyrics text into the provided field.
  8. Click Save.

Note: If any changes are made to the metadata of a previously delivered product, please make sure your trigger a metadata-only redelivery.

 

Lyrics Delivery to DSPs

Once lyrics have been added to an asset, they can be delivered to specific DSPs depending on the platform’s requirements and setup:

  • LyricFind: Currently, FUGA allows for the delivery of lyrics to LyricFind, which will propagate lyrics to DSPs such as Amazon, YouTube Music, Deezer, Pandora, Resso & more.

  • Other DSPs: Platforms such as Spotify and Amazon Music typically ingest lyrics via third-party lyric providers such as MusixMatch. Delivering a product that includes lyrics via FUGA will not result in lyrics being ingested on these platforms. If there is the need to deliver lyrics to MusixMatch right now, we advise you to do this though the relevant artist profiles on MusixMatch directly.
