Introduction
This article explains how to set up a multi-volume product (multiple discs or volumes) in the FUGA Interface. You will learn to configure both the product-level volume count and assign each asset to its correct volume so that your product is structured properly for distribution.
Overview
A multi-volume product contains more than one disc or volume under a single release. This functionality is ideal for box sets, compilation albums, and other multi-disc collections. Once approved, the tracklist and volume assignments cannot be edited, so accurate setup is critical.
Prerequisites
- Access to your FUGA account with product creation permissions.
- All assets (tracks) uploaded and ready for assignment.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Log in to your FUGA account.
- Create a new product as you normally would:
- Enter metadata such as title, artist, and UPC (Universal Product Code).
- Set the total number of volumes:
- At the product level, locate the Total Volumes field.
- Enter the total count (e.g.,
3for a 3-volume product).
- Assign volume numbers to assets:
- Open each asset in the product.
- Find the Volume field and enter the corresponding volume number (e.g.,
1,2,3).
- Review your assignments carefully: Note: Once the product is approved, you cannot modify track-to-volume assignments. To make changes after approval, you must create a new product.
Example: Setting Up a 3-Volume Product
Let’s say your release contains 3 volumes with 3 tracks each. Configure as follows:
| Track | Volume |
|---|---|
| Track 1 | 1 |
| Track 2 | 1 |
| Track 3 | 1 |
| Track 4 | 2 |
| Track 5 | 2 |
| Track 6 | 2 |
| Track 7 | 3 |
| Track 8 | 3 |
| Track 9 | 3 |
By following these steps, your multi-volume product will be correctly structured and ready for distribution.
