Introduction
This article explains how to create and configure an individual asset in the FUGA Interface. You will learn how to enter metadata, assign artist roles, manage copyright information, and set contributor and publisher credits. These steps are required for asset approval and DSP delivery.
Starting Asset Creation
- Open the relevant Product page.
- Navigate to the Assets tab.
- Click Add Asset to create a new track entry.
Assigning Artists to the Asset
- Click Add Artist.
- Search for an existing artist or type a new name and select Add As New.
- Assign a role:
- Primary: Main performing artist (required)
- Featuring: Guest appearance
- Repeat to add multiple artists.
Entering Main Asset Metadata
Fill in the following fields:
- Title: Name of the track as it should appear publicly.
- Version: Add descriptors (e.g., "Live", "Remix"). Do not include brackets.
- ISRC (International Standard Recording Code): Use an official code from your ISRC agency. Contact support@fuga.com only in exceptional cases.
- Recording Year: When the track was created or recorded.
Asset Copyright
Complete the following:
- (P) Year: Year of first public release.
- (P) Text: Name of the master rights owner (e.g., label or rights holder).

Genre and Subgenre
- Main Genre (required): Choose from the dropdown. Used for DSP delivery.
- Subgenre (optional): Free-text field. Type a new entry or reuse an existing one. If unsupported, only the Main Genre will appear.
Playtime and Preview Settings
Configure DSP playback behavior:
- Playtime: Duration in MM:SS and seconds.
- Preview Start: Custom cue point (e.g., 62 = 1:02).
- Preview Length: Defaults to 30 seconds. Recommended to leave unchanged.
Language and Explicit Content
- Metadata Language: Language used in the track title. Defaults to English.

Explicit Content: Select Explicit, Clean, or Not Explicit.
- If any track in the product is explicit, the product must be marked as such.
- Audio Language: Language of the lyrics. Use Instrumental if applicable.
Availability, Rights, and Tier Settings
Only adjust these fields if needed:
- Asset Rights Claim: Defaults to Monetize for YouTube CID. Set to Block if required.
- Asset Release Date: For pre-orders or delayed release. Leave blank unless instructed.
- Catalog Tier: Affects pricing. Options: Front, Mid, Back.
- Available Separately: Set to ON by default. Turning it off may affect availability on DSPs.
Contributors and Publishing Information
To add contributors:
- Click Add Contributor.
- Search for an existing name or enter a new one.
- Assign a role. For multiple roles, add the contributor again with a second role.
- Common roles include:
- Composer (real name, ideally PRO-registered)
- Lyricist (real name, ideally PRO-registered)
- Producer (real name or alias)
- Remixer (must match version field if used)

To add publishers:
- Click Add Publisher.
- Select the associated Composer or Lyricist.
- Choose a publisher from the list or select Add As New.
- Use official IPI-registered names only.
- Avoid administrative expansions or informal formats.
Important:
- If a writer has multiple publishers, enter the writer again for each.
- Follow formatting rules to avoid DSP rejection.
