Audio File Requirements for Your Product

Introduction

To ensure successful delivery through FUGA, all audio files must meet the specifications outlined below, based on the format you intend to deliver: Stereo, Dolby Atmos, or Apple Digital Masters (ADM).

Stereo (Standard, HD, DSD/DXD)

FUGA accepts FLAC, WAV, DSF, and DFF files for stereo delivery. These must meet one of the following specifications:

FLAC or WAV

  • DXD: 352.8 kHz / 24-bit

  • HD Audio:

    • 192 kHz / 32-bit or 24-bit

    • 176.4 kHz / 32-bit or 24-bit

    • 96 kHz / 32-bit or 24-bit

    • 88.2 kHz / 32-bit or 24-bit

    • 48 kHz / 32-bit, 24-bit, or 16-bit

    • 44.1 kHz / 32-bit or 24-bit

  • Standard Audio: 44.1 kHz / 16-bit

DSF or DFF (DSD)

  • DSD64: 2.8224 MHz / 1-bit

  • DSD128: 5.6448 MHz / 1-bit

  • DSD256: 11.2896 MHz / 1-bit

Dolby Atmos

For Dolby Atmos delivery, audio files must meet the following requirements:

  • Format: 24-bit / 48 kHz ADM BWF (BWAV)

  • Minimum: 8 channels

  • Maximum: 128 channels

  • Maximum: 118 audio objects

  • Duration must match the corresponding stereo version

  • A unique ISRC is required (must differ from the stereo version)

After uploading, you will be prompted to enter the ISRC for the Dolby Atmos file. This must be a different ISRC from the one used for the stereo recording.

 

Apple Digital Masters (ADM)

ADM audio files must meet all of the following:

  • Format: WAV only

  • Resolution:

    • 96 kHz / 24-bit

    • 88.2 kHz / 24-bit

    • 48 kHz / 24-bit

    • 44.1 kHz / 24-bit

  • Mastering must be performed by an Apple-approved mastering house listed on the Apple Digital Masters Provider List

During upload, you will be asked to provide the mastering engineer’s email address. Delivery to Apple Music will not proceed without this information.

Unsupported Audio Files

FUGA does not support the following formats:

  • Floating-point WAV files (only fixed-point WAV files are accepted)

  • FLAC files with embedded MPEG streams
