Introduction
This article explains how to upload a video in the FUGA Interface, including creating the video product, assigning metadata, adding a thumbnail image, and submitting the video for encoding. It also outlines bulk video upload options using the Metadata Ingestion Self-Service Tool.
Creating a Video Product
To create and upload a new video product in the FUGA Interface:
- Click Create in the top-right corner of the FUGA Interface homepage.
- Enter the product title and click Create to open the product editor.
- Under the Tracks section, click Upload new.
- Set the track type to Music video.
-
Click Add file and select your video file from your device.
Ensure your file meets FUGA’s video requirements. See our article on What Are The Video Requirements for Upload? for full specifications.
- Complete all mandatory metadata fields, including:
- UPC (Universal Product Code) / EAN (European Article Number)
- ISRC (International Standard Recording Code): This must be unique and should not match the ISRC used for the audio version of the track.
Uploading a Thumbnail
Every video requires a preview image (thumbnail), which should be a still taken from the video.
- Minimum size: 640 x 400 pixels
- Recommended size for iTunes/Apple Music: 1920 x 1080 pixels (16:9 aspect ratio)
iTunes/Apple Music thumbnail requirements:
- Must be an actual still from the video
- Must not contain black bars
- No added logos or text
Upload your thumbnail in the Artwork section of the product editor.
Video Encoding
If you intend to deliver the video to Apple Music or iTunes, encoding is required prior to delivery.
To submit for encoding:
- Locate the iTunes encoding field within the video track details.
- Click the green Encode button.
Once initiated, the video is sent to the FUGA encoding team. You will receive a confirmation email once encoding is complete.
Note: Wait until encoding has been confirmed before attempting delivery. Early delivery attempts may result in failure.
Bulk Video Uploading
To upload videos in bulk, use the Metadata Ingestion Self-Service Tool (MISS).
This option is ideal for clients managing large video catalogs and requires structured metadata sheets alongside video asset uploads.

Next Steps
- Ensure your video meets all required specifications before upload
- Verify metadata, UPC / EAN, and ISRC fields
- Confirm encoding completion before scheduling delivery
- For bulk processes, prepare metadata for use with the Metadata Ingestion Self-Service Tool
