Introduction
This article explains how to use the Metadata Ingestion tool to import audio/video files and associated metadata into FUGA. You will learn how to start a new ingestion, validate your metadata against the files on FTP, handle errors and warnings, and confirm a successful ingestion.
Overview
Once your audio/video and image files are uploaded via File Transfer Protocol (FTP) and your metadata sheet is prepared, initiate the ingestion process by selecting the + Start New Ingestion button in the Metadata Ingestion tool.
Step By Step
1. Initiating a New Ingestion
- Select the + Start New Ingestion button in the Metadata Ingestion tool.
- Enter a project name and upload your metadata CSV.
- Click Start Validating to begin initial checks.
2. Validating Metadata
- The tool verifies that metadata fields are correct and that corresponding files exist on FTP.
- On completion, a pop-up displays the count of errors and warnings.
3. Handling Errors and Warnings
- Click View Errors/Warnings for details.
- Errors must be fixed before proceeding; warnings are advisory.
- Use Export Summary to download an issues report.
4. Re-uploading Corrected Metadata
- After addressing errors, click the green Upload CSV button to restart validation.
- Proceed once the error count is zero (warnings may persist).
5. Final Ingestion and Confirmation
- Click Next Step to complete ingestion.
- A green confirmation box shows the number of products and assets ingested.
- Review ingested items in the Product Catalog page.
6. Troubleshooting Messages
- Failed Ingestion: red alert indicates failure; contact your Integrations Manager or support@fuga.com.
- Partially Successful Ingestion: some products failed; further investigation needed.
All successfully ingested products become immediately available in the FUGA interface for editing, approval, and delivery setup.
