Ingesting Audio and Video Files Into FUGA

This article explains how to use the Metadata Ingestion Self-Service Tool (MISS Tool) to import audio and video files along with associated metadata into the FUGA Interface. You will learn how to start a new ingestion, validate metadata against assets uploaded via File Transfer Protocol (FTP), resolve validation errors, and confirm completed ingestions.

Overview

Once your audio, video, and cover image files are uploaded to your designated File Transfer Protocol (FTP) directory and your metadata CSV is prepared, you can initiate the ingestion process directly within the MISS Tool.

Step-by-Step Instructions

 

  1. Initiate a New Ingestion Select + Start New Ingestion in the MISS Tool. Enter a descriptive project name, upload your metadata CSV file, and select Start Validating to begin automated checks.

  1. Validate Metadata The MISS Tool verifies that all required metadata fields are properly formatted and checks that matching media files exist on the FTP server. Once validation finishes, a pop-up displays the total count of errors and warnings.
  2. Handle Errors and Warnings Select View Errors/Warnings to inspect specific validation issues.
    • Errors: Critical issues that must be corrected before proceeding with ingestion.
    • Warnings: Advisory notices regarding optional fields or minor discrepancies. Select Export Summary to download a detailed report of all flagged issues.

  1. Re-upload Corrected Metadata After correcting errors in your CSV file or re-uploading missing media files to FTP, select Upload CSV to re-run validation. You may proceed once the error count reaches zero (advisory warnings may remain).

  1. Finalize Ingestion Select Next Step to execute the final ingestion. A confirmation dialog will display the total number of products and assets ingested. Successfully ingested items appear immediately on the Catalog page in the FUGA Interface, ready for approval, editing, and delivery setup.

Troubleshooting Messages

  • Failed Ingestion: A red alert indicates a critical error during processing.
  • Partially Successful Ingestion: Indicates that specific products within the CSV failed while others succeeded. Review the exported summary report to identify and resolve the failed items.
