Introduction
This article explains how to update the tracklist of a product that has already been approved in the FUGA platform. Once a product is approved and a Universal Product Code (UPC) is generated, its tracklist is fixed. To make any updates—including changes to track order, ISRCs, or volume details—you must create and deliver a new product using the Duplicate function.
Overview
Once a product has been approved in the FUGA platform, it is assigned a unique Universal Product Code (UPC). This UPC is associated with the specific tracklist and structure of that product. After this point, it is no longer possible to:
- Add, remove, or reorder assets (tracks)
- Change International Standard Recording Codes (ISRCs)
- Adjust volume numbers or how assets are distributed across volumes
- Modify the UPC
To make any of these changes, a new product must be created and assigned a new UPC.
Step-by-step Instructions
1. Duplicate the Original Product
To preserve all metadata and existing assets:
- Navigate to the original Product page.
- Click the three-dot menu in the top-right corner.
- Select Duplicate from the dropdown options.
You will be redirected to the new product. FUGA will automatically append "(Copy)" to the title.
Note: Be sure to remove "(Copy)" from the product title before continuing.
2. Assign New Identifiers
In the new duplicated product:
- Assign a new Universal Product Code (UPC)
- Assign a new catalog number
3. Update the Tracklist
Use the following options to revise the product’s tracklist:
- Upload New to add new assets
- Add Existing to include existing assets from your catalog
Important: Do not change ISRCs at this stage unless absolutely necessary. If you need to change ISRCs, refer to our article on How to Update the ISRC for an Existing Product.
4. Approve and Deliver
Once the tracklist and metadata have been finalized:
- Approve the new product
- Deliver the new product to all relevant Digital Service Providers (DSPs)
5. Remove the Original Product
After confirming the new product is live on DSPs and that streaming data has matched successfully:
- Initiate takedown of the original product.
Note: Stream-matching will only occur for tracks that use the same ISRCs as the original product.
Troubleshooting
- Streams not matching after redelivery? Ensure the ISRCs of the tracks in the new product are identical to those in the original.
- Unable to approve duplicate product? Double-check that all required fields (e.g., UPC, catalog number, territory rights) are completed.
Related Notes
- You cannot simply redeliver an approved product with a new tracklist; a new product must be created.
- Products with incorrect ISRCs should be handled using the appropriate metadata correction process.
-
Redelivered products may take time to replace older versions on some DSPs.
